Herb Jung is an artist whose paintings are known for their textural detail, depth, and insight. His fine art is currently exhibited in homes and offices throughout North America.

As an honours graduate of the Ontario College of Art, Herb received the prestigious Elizabeth Greenshield Scholarship, and spent a year studying painting in Florence, Italy. His art career has included commissions with a number of Toronto restaurants: Al Frisco’s, Alice Fazoolis, Far Niente, and The Loose Moose. Herb has also served on the faculty of Sheridan College as a painting and drawing instructor.

A resident of Port Hope for the past five years, Herb is enjoying both the rich historic and artistic community, and the slower pace of life outside of Toronto.

His current series of paintings is an exploration of flowers inspired by visual artists, photographers, and gardeners around the world. This web-based collaboration has prompted new contacts and unexpected dialogues. In Herb’s words: There’s something undeniably soul-full about talking to someone you hardly know from another continent about flowers—it’s one of life’s unexpected miracles.

Herb’s work encompasses a versatile range of fine art, commissions for copies of old masters, landscapes, and lyrical, delightful, illustrative pieces with a life, all their own. His giclées are hand coloured, digitally mastered, museum quality prints.
